Electrical Safety Plan
Electrical Health and Safety Plan
The electrical safety plan assesses the risk following the hazard identification process connected with electrical installation work task and the subsequent implementation of risk controls to manage the risks.
Electrical safe work method statements require that hazard control measures be implemented per electrical safety procedures when undertaking electrical installation work.

Electrical Safety Work Practices Plan
Workplace Safety has conducted a hazard analysis of electrical work practices for construction work, e.g. cable tray installation work and developed risk control measures per the hierarchy of controls for identified hazards.
Assess and review WHS practices in the workplace to control risk
Consultation with employees on health and safety matters for the identification of hazards with electrical work practices
Risk assessment to identify workplace safety hazards and risks that may potentially pose an immediate threat of death or serious injury
Health and safety planning for electrical safety work practices, e.g. minimise risks through the planning process
WHS consultation and participation processes ensure adequate health and safety communication
Workplace environmental hazards, e.g. working in hazardous areas, electrical hazard, work in a confined space, falling from heights
Slip trips and falls in the workplace having the potential to cause death or serious injury
Toolbox talks before commencing electrical work tasks to identify hazards with the undertaking of electrical work to implement control measures to prevent the risk of injury
Hazards associated with working in confined spaces for electrical work shall have control measures implemented to eliminate, minimise or isolate the risk
Work at height hazards for electrical work shall have control measures implemented per work at height hierarchy of control to eliminate, minimise or isolate the risk
Hazardous chemicals used in connection with electrical work tasks
Hazardous manual tasks in connection with undertaking electrical work tasks
Personal protective equipment, e.g. electrical safety gear, PPE for electricians and electrical PPE
Health and safety training for workers, e.g. electrical safe work practices training
Workplace housekeeping incorporating material handling and storage safety
Legislative and regulatory requirements for compliance with WHS legislation, e.g. managing electrical risks in the workplace code of practice and WHS industry standards
Monitor and review of risk controls, e.g. implement and monitor work health and safety practices
Electrician tasks and activities in connection with electrical work tasks

Safety Plan for Electrical Work
Electrical safety plan shall assess the risk of construction high-risk activities involved with electrical work practices.
High-risk work activities that may expose workers to WHS hazards are likely to include but not be limited to:
Working on or near live electrical equipment, e.g. live parts of electrical equipment
Implementing an isolation procedure for electrical equipment to ensure electrical equipment safety
Lockout electrical equipment per live electrical work requirements
Work on live electrical, e.g. working with live electrical wires
Use of electrical testing tools, e.g. live electrical testing
Other electrical work hazards.
